It was a really good experience to volunteer during 6 weeks at YHA Swanage. I met really nice people and learnt new things. What I did not like is the fact that we are not feed by the hostel. I think it's not normal because we do a lot of hours just for a room. At least I received 75£ for my travel expenses but I think in the future it will be great to feed the volunteers or give a bit of money per month to help them to pay their food expenses. I still recommend this experience and the Swanage hostel which is located in a very beautiful setting and that is well kept.
