Volunteer Managers provide a warm welcome to guests in several of our small self-catering hostels. Often in beautiful locations, Volunteer Managers enjoy the benefit of being able to explore the area in their free time. By supporting YHA in this way you can help keep these very special hostels open for everyone.
You will welcome a wide range of guests and have the satisfaction of knowing you have given them an enjoyable stay. The role involves customer care, daily housekeeping, administration, answering telephone queries and looking after the security of the hostel. Volunteer Managing can be hard work, but there are many rewards including spending your free time exploring the attractions of the local area and meeting some interesting like-minded people. All the volunteer-run hostels are self-catering.
We can offer to reimburse you up to £75 towards your travel costs to the hostel and accommodation is free of charge whilst you volunteer.
Hostels currently in the Volunteer Manager programme are:
Beverley Friary, Clun Mill, Coniston Coppermines, Dalby Forest, Jordans, Langdon Beck, Leominster, Litton Cheney, Mankinholes, Newport, Poppit Sands, Pwll Deri, Rowen, Slaidburn, St Davids, Tanners Hatch, Thurlby, Tintagel and Wells next the Sea.
